Cultural Story
In 水滸傳, Wu Song drinks eighteen bowls and then 拳s the man-eating tiger to death on Jingyang Ridge, the bare fist against the tooth. 拳 is the curled hand, the peasant's only weapon and his whole argument. The novel made it legend, and every boy who has practiced 打拳 in a park believes, briefly, that he too could kill a cat with one curled hand.

Read the story behind the character
A boy throws a 拳頭; a gym teaches 拳擊; old men 打拳 in the park at dawn, practising 太極拳 as much for the knees as the soul. The tiger is gone but the curled hand remains, now a sport, a health routine, a photograph of grandparents, and the only argument most of us will ever throw is the one at the heavy bag.
Why this character belongs on skin
The open hand gives; the open hand also leaves itself undefended. The old word for the fist curls the fingers into a single stone, power gathered and withheld. A fist is a promise of violence and, stranger still, a promise of restraint — the warrior who clenches and does not strike has mastered more than the one who swings. We mistake softness for peace. But the closed hand knows its own strength and chooses, each time, what to do with it. Wear it where you have held your temper like a held breath, a quiet emblem of strength under command. Let the ink be the fist you kept closed — proof that the greatest power was the one you refused to spend.
