Why this character belongs on skin

The mountain hides its springs in the thick of the wood. The character roofs 'mountain' and 'stone,' and 密 is the dense, the close, the secret place where things are kept under cover — 秘密, the confidence shared with no one; 密集, a press of leaves so thick the light comes through in specks. The Daoist retreats into 密 to commune with the unseen; the lover keeps a 密 known only to two; the strategist guards his intent until the strike.
