守 · Cheng Miao
Shǒu (3rd tone). The Shuowen reads 守 as 「守官也。从宀从寸」 — ‘to keep one’s office; from 宀 (roof) and 寸 (a measure of authority).’ The form shows a responsible hand (寸) under a roof, guarding what is entrusted. The Daoists make it a discipline: 《道德 $9.00 – Purchase Checkout Added to cart
