No ceremony, no excess. Just the clean transaction between a need and what satisfies it. To carry this character is to make a quiet stand against ornament for its own sake, against the life spent acquiring and never applying. The Daoists spoke of wu wei, action without strain; 用 is its working hand. A thing used fully is a thing honored. Your body, your days, your particular gifts — put them to something.
